Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths

Hi. I saw your edits to Crisis on Infinite Earths and I'd like to let you know that the press release for Doom Patrol states that Robotman and Negative Man were performed through motion-capture. I just wanted to know what sources said that Riley Shanahan and Matthew Zuk did the in-suit performance for them. --Rtkat3 (talk) 15:41, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

Motion capture is for when you have a computer generated character.. these clearly are not CG.. they are stunt guys in costume. "Matthew Zuk has also been cast in the role of Negative Man, and he will provide the physical performance of the character on set in full body costume.[2] Spanneraol (talk) 18:10, 15 March 2020 (UTC)

MLB PLayoff player pools

Why are you removing non-40-man players from player pools - some are still in pool and eligible. Teams are announcing them before every round. Blahblah32blahblah (talk) 19:27, 5 October 2020 (UTC)

Yes, and that includes guys who aren't on the 40-man roster.... hence they're still available in the "pool" (or "taxi-squad") - there's a reason they're announced every round. Blahblah32blahblah (talk) 20:08, 5 October 2020 (UTC)

TrueBlueLA

Hi, I have a question. I see that TrueBlueLA[5] is a source in dozens of article on Dodgers. Is it an RS? I saw an editor deleting material cited to it saying it is not an RS, and therefore deleting the material. And if it is not an RS, does that mean that all the other material in the other articles is subject to deletion also? Thanks. --2603:7000:2143:8500:C0AD:9D65:5166:A244 (talk) 07:13, 4 February 2021 (UTC)

Trevor Bauer

I edited the page and mentioned that he has a court date, but will still play on Sunday. Has anything changed or are my sources not good?

Dodgers roster/roster navbox

Hi.

I know you're a big Dodgers fan and all and I understand that. I was just wondering if you would be willing to split the edits with me. I am a fan of the Dodgers as well. Maybe you can do the roster template full time and I could edit the roster navbox or something like that. I get Dodgers tweets on my phone so I will promise to edit whichever one I am in charge of in a timely manner. I hope we can come up with a fair compromise. Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 23:34, 31 July 2021 (UTC)

I don't think we need a formal agreement on that.. other people update it from time to time too.. I'm more focused on the season page since I have been working on those since the 2007 season (and went back and did most of the historical seasons as well).. I'm glad you started doing the stats stuff cause I always hated doing that part since it's such a hassle.. when I was updating those I would only do them once a week (on Sundays).. as to the rosters... I mean I get the tweets too.. I'm just not in front of my computer all day long to update stuff right away.. so I just do those if I see something while i'm at my computer... an exception was during the trade deadline when I was tracking all of that and trying to continually fix errors various IP editors were making at pages everywhere..and trying to make sure that everything is referenced. I also update all the minor league rosters that you don't seem particularly interested in. Spanneraol (talk) 17:07, 1 August 2021 (UTC)

Dodgers Statistics

I hope you don’t mind this but since today’s game ended at 1:00am, I decided to postpone the update to about 8 hours from now. I promise that I will do it before the beginning of the game on 8/26. Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 10:07, 26 August 2021 (UTC)

No problem.. there is no deadline on doing that. Spanneraol (talk) 17:40, 26 August 2021 (UTC)

MLB game logs

Hi. Do you know if it is possible to make the formatting of all MLB game logs more similar to each other? It is very confusing to see differences such as omitted columns and text in collapsible sections. LSGH (talk) (contributions) 17:33, 27 August 2021 (UTC)

It's possible but not necessary.. different people have set it up separately and there is no requirement that they be entirely uniform. Spanneraol (talk) 17:43, 27 August 2021 (UTC)
There is none, but it could be more beneficial in the future. For some reason, there is one person who is updating almost all of the game logs. I do not know how that person can deal with different formats without much difficulty. LSGH (talk) (contributions) 06:20, 28 August 2021 (UTC)

When the time is right, may I create the season page for the 2022 San Francisco Giants please? Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 02:03, 6 October 2021 (UTC)

Next year, could I have a chance to post the final roster for the Giants please? It is just that I am a big fan of theirs and I have been updating the roster for most of this season and all. Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 04:47, 15 October 2021 (UTC)

Sorry.. you should have said something beforehand.. I have all the teams ready to go on my sandbox... I've been doing the end of season rosters for every team since I did all the past ones from 1876 to present.. When other people do them I usually have to correct them cause they either just put the guys who were on the roster at the end of the year or they forget to do multiple uniform numbers or something like that. Spanneraol (talk) 05:03, 15 October 2021 (UTC)

Okay. Thanks for explaining this to me. That's my mistake. Sorry for not asking earlier. If I do it, I promise that I will double and triple check my work. Keep up the great work. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 05:27, 15 October 2021 (UTC)

Are you going to update the Giants roster template for the offseason? (activating all the inactive players and removing the pitching roles)? I saw you did the navbox but not the roster. Spanneraol (talk) 17:06, 15 October 2021 (UTC)

Sorry I didn’t do it. Thanks for covering for me. I was busy for the past few days and I didn’t see the notification. Anyway, I was wondering if you think it is necessary to list all those statistical leads on the 2021 San Francisco Giants page? Some of them seem okay to leave but others seem a little too specific or unnecessary. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 09:51, 19 October 2021 (UTC)

Seems a bit excessive to me. Spanneraol (talk) 13:09, 19 October 2021 (UTC)

The stats that I think are relevant to leave up on the top of the 2021 San Francisco Giants page are: homeruns, runs, walks, runs batted in, batting average, slugging, OPS, pinch hit homeruns, fewest homeruns allowed, fewest walks, and saves. Could you please tell me what you think please? I could use your help to make sure it is in the best shape possible. Thanks. GoWarriors151718 (talk) 22:20, 21 October 2021 (UTC)

The Tampa Bay Rays just lost the 2021 ALDS to the Boston Red Sox. So why do you think the Rays won (by reverting my edits)? Call me when you get the chance (talk) 04:16, 12 October 2021 (UTC)

They won the AL East division.. that's a regular series title.. not the division series. Spanneraol (talk) 04:17, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
Of course the Rays won the AL East, but not the ALDS, but you still reverted my edits anyway. Why would you do that? Call me when you get the chance (talk) 04:18, 12 October 2021 (UTC)
Because that line is for division titles, which THEY WON.. not for division series wins. Spanneraol (talk) 04:21, 12 October 2021 (UTC)

I am a mixed fan. My mom was born and raised in the LA area and my dad was born and raised in the Bay Area. So I root for both of them. Anyway, I will work on them as soon as the game goes final (unless there is a massive comeback). GoWarriors151718 (talk) 03:25, 24 October 2021 (UTC)

Hey there! First of all, I wanted to thank you for diligently fixing all the articles of everyone who became a free agent this offseason. I just wanted to let you know that I tweaked Odúbel Herrera's page, because, per this article and this one, unlike McCutchen, the Phillies actually still have control of Herrera's contract and he'll remain within the organization until December 2, at which point they can (and probably will, based on how he played this season) non-tender him and formally release him into free agency. Since this wasn't immediately obvious from the press release, I wanted to let you know so that you don't accidentally change it back. — GhostRiver 15:00, 4 November 2021 (UTC)

Ok, thanks. Spanneraol (talk) 16:20, 4 November 2021 (UTC)

Non-notable baseball player, fails WP:GNG and WP:BASE/N

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Wladimir Pinto

I'm a bit confused, why did you go to the effort of creating Wladimir Pinto then propose deletion a minute later? NemesisAT (talk) 12:38, 10 November 2021 (UTC)

It's not my own article.. I unmerged it from the minor league players page because he is no longer in that organization. Spanneraol (talk) 19:15, 10 November 2021 (UTC)

Unlike the other Star Trek series, Paramount Domestic Television doesn't appear to be the credited original distributor except maybe for the third season. The first two seasons Desilu Productions seems more likely. CBS Domestic Television (now known as CBS Media Ventures) is mentioned in the article as starting distribution in 2006. Paramount is mentioned as the original syndication distributor though. NBC, the original network is the closest to being the original distributor that can be identified. It definitely wasn't one of the future rights holders though. Geraldo Perez (talk) 17:18, 15 November 2021 (UTC)

Does that distributor box mean the original distributor or the current right holder / distributor? It is not clear... regardless.. NBC was never a distributor of the show.. they just held the original network rights. CBS Media Ventures is the successor company to both Paramount Domestic TV and Desilu. Spanneraol (talk) 23:19, 15 November 2021 (UTC)
From Template:Infobox television/doc "distributor The names of the original distribution company or companies." All of the info in the infobox is for the original release and names as credited then. Generally info after that point, if notable, is covered in the article but not mentioned in the infobox. We generally don't update names when ownership changes or names change and depend on redirects at the original names to point to or to a section of the successor named articles. If the original studio isn't a distribution company and sold directly to the network, the network is the distributor via broadcasting the series. IMDb lists NBC as a distributor for the series and it is the earliest listed. Geraldo Perez (talk) 23:34, 15 November 2021 (UTC)

Hi, Spanneraol, I'm new to wikipedia. I thought I provided the source and I stated it was unconfirmed. If I'm not supposed to do that, let me know. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Equernimou231 (talkcontribs) 15:51, 2 December 2021 (UTC)

We don't include unconfirmed information in wikipedia articles. Spanneraol (talk) 16:28, 2 December 2021 (UTC)

STOP SPOILING NO WAY HOME

Peter Debruge ignored the warnings to not spoil the movie, yet he posted the spoiler-filled review BEFORE it released, not AFTER. Sure, the spoiler ends up confirmed, but that doesn't give you the right to spoil the fun for others. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Baxyofh4rd (talkcontribs) 05:23, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

We are an encyclopedia, we don't have deal with protecting spoilers here. Spanneraol (talk) 05:26, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
Per WP:SPOILER: "It is not acceptable to delete information from an article because you think it spoils the plot." So, if you hate spoilers, then GET OUT of the page for Spider-Man: No Way Home! LancedSoul (talk) 05:29, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

You alright?

Wanted to ask if you're in good spirits right now. With all the IPs and users who, despite reading WP:SPOILER, claim you're spoiling Spider-Man: No Way Home, I'm sure it can get pretty toxic. Hopefully, it'll pass once the film gets its general release. You doing okay right now? SuperWIKI (talk) 07:19, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

Yea, I don't take this nonsense personally. Spanneraol (talk) 14:17, 15 December 2021 (UTC)

You keep undoing my edits

So, I noticed that you reverted my edit on the List of MCU Films page. Care to tell me why that is? FilmLover72

I reverted you once.. someone else did the previous time. As he said in his note, there has been no official announcement of a new film yet. Spanneraol (talk) 01:58, 19 December 2021 (UTC)

All I did was revert vandalism... the reliable sources were already in the article. Spanneraol (talk) 14:42, 21 February 2022 (UTC)

TASM3

Maybe TASM3 could happen. Tom Holland said that he shows support for Andrew to make The Amazing Spider-Man 3.. Don't you know? Kevbo128 (talk) 01:35, 14 March 2022 (UTC)

We don't do speculation.. and online fan chatter is not notable. Spanneraol (talk) 01:41, 14 March 2022 (UTC)
You have to admit. Amazing Spider-Man 3 will happen soon. It'll be a matter of time, before Sony comes up with a decision. Kevbo128 (talk) 04:06, 18 March 2022 (UTC)
I don't have to admit anything... I think it's very unlikely that they would do that. Spanneraol (talk) 13:26, 18 March 2022 (UTC)

Trade

Was the A’s-Braves trade announced by either side? GoWarriors151718 (talk) 18:34, 14 March 2022 (UTC)

Yes.. The A's announced it. Spanneraol (talk) 18:34, 14 March 2022 (UTC)

Eddy Alvarez page reversion inquiry

Hello, I recently noticed Eddy Alvarez was listed as a Cuban-American, which is technically correct, but I was curious why he is listed as such when other people born in the United States to immigrant parents are primarily listed as simply American and he is not. In fact, I myself have immigrant parents from Poland, to be more specific, which is why I’m very passionate about this subject, and yes, I was the person who stupidly edited the page under the pretense of fixing nationality, which in hindsight makes no sense and doesn’t apply in this context. I'm sorry to pester you about this. I simply want to understand the rules of Wikipedia, why my edit was undone by you, and why it's erroneous to call him solely American. After all, he has contributed quite a bit to our country in terms of sports. Midfieler (talk) 10:54, 25 March 2022 (UTC)

Check'em all, before you revert.

If you're going to unlink bold team names in sports team season articles? Then you've got hundreds of articles to do, across many sports. NHL, MLB, NFL, CFL etc etc. GoodDay (talk) 22:51, 4 April 2022 (UTC)

Most of the other MLB season articles do not have the link in the bold.. they were all removed at one point after a talk page discussion because there was some policy that it violated. MOS:BOLDLINK Spanneraol (talk) 22:54, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
Recommend you bring your concerns to WP:SPORTS, as it's obvious that there's inconsistency across all sports season articles, including within the same sports themselves. GoodDay (talk) 23:00, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
PS- If what you claim is true? Then would you please complete the removals from all the MLB team season articles. Then begin with the NHL, NFL, CFL etc team season articles. I don't care how it's done, as long as there's consistency. GoodDay (talk) 23:04, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
I don't have the time to do such a thing, but there was a discussion on the baseball project page about this issue and the links were removed.. some may have added them back in but you shouldn't change it on your own without a consensus to do so. Spanneraol (talk) 23:37, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
But you do have time to revert me, of course. GoodDay (talk) 00:06, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
Those are articles I am actively working to maintain... so I noticed them right away.. if you had started on the Cardinals articles I probably wouldn't have gotten involved. Spanneraol (talk) 03:02, 5 April 2022 (UTC)

Sourcing your content

Seriously? You have been on Wikipedia more than long enough to know that new additions must be sourced. That's your responsibility as the person adding the new content. Please don't push off your lack of responsibility for your own actions onto me. Forcing me to search for a source for something you apparently already had access to is ridiculous. I did intend to search for it later, but got distracted. Nevertheless, the ultimate responsibility is yours, not mine. BilCat (talk) 23:09, 1 May 2022 (UTC)

And I was planning on coming back and adding a better source the following morning as it was late at night at the time... you didn't need to revert so quickly especially when it wasn't something that was a controversial addition. Spanneraol (talk) 22:22, 2 May 2022 (UTC)
As I said, I did intend to look for it myself later, but got distracted as I was about to do it, and forgot until I saw your edit summary. In the end, the source was added and that's the important thing to me. I've found that removing new unsourced items is a more effective method of ensuring that sources are added than adding a citation needed tag or doing nothing. Had you simply added the new information after the cited mention, I probably would have just tagged it. But you placed the new content in the middle of the old without changing the source, and that's a big bugaboo of mine, as it's misleading. It's far better to have outdated but cited information than to add new information in the middle of an older cited source. You don't have to agree with reasons, but I just wanted you to understand why I do it that way. I steps on toes sometimes, but sources usually get added the next time. BilCat (talk) 23:39, 2 May 2022 (UTC)
And it's Baseball. Everything has the potential to be controversial, even if it doesn't appear that way at first! :) Especially when dealing with records. (: BilCat (talk) 23:44, 2 May 2022 (UTC)
